Rick Brown

My passion for photography began in high school when my parents gave me my first camera. What started as simple snapshots on family trips quickly became something more. I enjoyed the anticipation of seeing what the film would reveal and the satisfaction of capturing a moment that could last.

Creativity has always shaped my life. Raised by an artist, I found my own creative medium in photography. While painting never held my patience, the camera did. It became my way to translate light, color, and special moments into something lasting.

As a former business executive, my career took me across the globe, particularly throughout Europe and Asia and I always traveled with a camera. Over time, decades of shooting primarily on film and working in the darkroom refined my understanding of light and composition. Though largely self-taught, I have continued to develop my craft alongside other professional photographers, always focused on composition, timing, and seeing what could be.

I am drawn to remote landscapes and wildlife, places far from cities where solitude awakens the senses. Standing alone at sunrise or sunset, immersed in a vast and untouched environment, is where I feel most connected. Africa and the American West were especially transformative, deepening my appreciation for capturing wildlife within its natural surroundings.

Having visited more than 100 countries, I’ve come to understand that no two moments are ever the same. The mixture of light, colors and perspective continually reshape a scene. That unpredictability and the discipline required to chase it is part of what keeps me passionate about photography.

When I share my work, I hope viewers feel something through their own experiences; wonder, calm, reflection, inspiration. I see photography as both art and storytelling, and it is important that I can share that.

“Collecting memories that refuse to be forgotten” reflects what this journey means to me. The landscapes and wildlife I capture have changed me in small but lasting ways. Through fine art prints, those moments can live on bringing the beauty of the world’s wild and different places into everyday life.
